As per BP (2012) vitality utilization driven by two fundamental angles that are populace and salary (GDP). In the year 2030, total populace is anticipated to develop by 1. 4 billion, which is 0. 9 percent for every annum. Development of GDP are additionally show a comparable patterns. Driven by low and medium pay economies, the development in the following 20 years is anticipated to quicken arrive at the quantity of 3. 7 percent, raising from 3. 2 percent in the 1990-2010 period. In any case, increment in populace and GDP development isn't really flood the essential vitality utilization. As communicated in BP Energy Outlook 2030 (BP, 2012), essential vitality utilization development from 2010 to 2030, which ruled by the flexibly of raw petroleum creation, is decelerated to 1. 6 percent contrasted with 2. 0 percent somewhere in the range of 1990 and 2010. The fundamental factor to this is significant decay of world raw petroleum saves by that year. Another factor that has risen this circumstance is worldwide improvement of vitality effectiveness, particularly for OECD nations that moving the usage of oil to sustainable for street transportation and change from coal to a similar sort vitality in power age. Regardless of the deceleration, essential vitality despite everything has a considerable record to the whole world vitality utilization. The extent of essential vitality utilization and world essential vitality shares somewhere in the range of 2010 and 2030 show in the chart beneath. As introduced in figure 1, most of absolute worldwide vitality utilization despite everything contributed by the essential vitality, which comprise of raw petroleum, coal, and LNG. In 2030, these three principle vitality wares are task to be expended over 12billion TOE (ton of oil equal) internationally, which around 70 percent of all out vitality devoured. Additionally, from the diagram it tends to be seen the advancement of each type of vitality showing an alternate inclination. Raw petroleum as the most consumable vitality over the most recent 20 years isn't show a noteworthy turn of events. Decrease in its stores cause the unrefined petroleum no longer give manageability to worldwide buyer. Be that as it may, the measure of oil expended in 2030 is sensibly gigantic and still give an incredible commitment to the worldwide buyer with somewhat less than 30 percent (figure 2). Then again, the advancement of the other two essential energies is significantly high. Gas especially, is anticipated to develop consistently in the following 20 years and become the quickest developing fuel fossils. As can be found in the figure 2, gas flexibly offer to the world’s vitality utilization will reach more than 20 percent by 2030. The gas flexibly to the worldwide vitality shopper will be spoken to by develop fasting LNG gracefully, which arrive at the quantity of 4. 5 percent for each annum quicker than absolute gas flexibly (2. 1 percent). In the interim, development of worldwide coal utilization is showing a consistent pattern up until 2030 (figure 1). The coal utilization anticipated to increment until around 2020 however begin to decrease a while later with China as the principle shopper of this vitality end their fast utilization. Non petroleum derivative, inexhaustible specifically will be significant by that year as colossal needs of reasonable force for power and transport fuel will rise the improvement of this sort of vitality. 3. Unrefined petroleum SEABORNE TRADE Aforementioned, the development of raw petroleum request won't have a critical improvement, which considered the utilization development that lone 0. 6 percent every year somewhere in the range of 2010 and 2030 (BP, 2012). This circumstance gives a genuine effect on the raw petroleum big hauler business. Grossman et al (2006) communicated the viewpoint of unrefined petroleum big hauler business in 2030 is concealed by the vulnerability. The high measure of oil cost, declining stores of unrefined petroleum and constraint underway limit could influence the world raw petroleum exchange. Nonetheless, notwithstanding numerous vulnerabilities to a great extent, there are still some acceptable patterns concerning this business. As declining of develop oil field holds that have moderately close separation to the significant bringing in nations and geopolitical issues on pipeline improvements, the reliance of the shippers to significant makers in Africa and Middle East is incredibly high. Grossman et al (2006) included Maritime Trade and Transport Logistic Strategy 2030, the raw petroleum sends out portion of Middle East nations will raise to more than 60 percent, which implies the big hauler exchange from that point to significant exporters will have similar patterns. Figure 3 beneath, present the raw petroleum exchange streams 2030 convey by big hauler vessel. It tends to be seen that significant bringing in nations particularly in the Asia district have a monstrous reliance on raw petroleum exchange from Middle East. China for example, is anticipated to import the oil from Middle East for roughly 5. 9 million BPD (IEEJ, 2006), increment more than 50 percent from 2011 (EIA, 2012). The principle factor of this is decay of China oil creation to just 2 million BPD. Patterns on decrease underway limit likewise happened on other East Asia nations. Aggregately, other East Asian nations outside China and Japan just delivered oil somewhat more than 2 million BPD, which constrained them to import more, particularly from Middle East area that arrive at 10. 6 million BPD. In the interim, Japan and India that customarily are net merchants of oil is anticipated to import oil from Middle East for 3. 6 and 6. 6 million BPD, separately. Altogether, Asian district anticipated to import very nearly 30 million BPD from Middle East Region in 2030. One of the impacts of this circumstance is augmentation of raw petroleum big hauler traffic around Strait of Malacca and Singapore. As appeared in the Figure 4, the quantity of VLCC passing this waterway will increment up to 8646 nearly multiplied from 2010 and oil exchanged through this zone arrive at 24. 7 million BPD, which on one hand is useful for country’s pay yet then again it will cause a sensibly extraordinary clog. Besides, US and Western Europe as the significant market partners for oil likewise relies upon raw petroleum transportation. US especially, regardless of they despite everything produce significantly enormous measure of oil, they despite everything need to import it from Middle East, Africa and Latin America on the grounds that their creation limit is no longer satisfy the local market. All out oil exchange from those three areas arrive at somewhat more than 10 million BPD, which is still underneath their local creation rate. While, for Western European market, the reliance on seaborne oil exchange from other district isn't as a high as both US or Asian nations since they despite everything have pipeline dissemination from Eastern Europe, Russia particularly. In this article, we look at 20 of the best ways to distribute your YouTube video. We have divided them into sections: 1) use the tools provided, 2) spread the word, and 3) some creative ideas.USE THE TOOLS PROVIDED1. Get the SEO rightTo begin with, utilize the tools that are available straight through YouTube. One example is providing a precise and detailed title and description for each video and providing directly relevant keywords (tags) too. The title should be intriguing, one-of-a-kind.How long should your video descriptions be? It is advisable to have a minimum of 200 words in the description inclusive of long-tail keywords and phrases. This would help both YouTube and Google comprehend your video’s topics. The description is the key for your brand to be noticed by search engines so don’t neglect it.2. Incorporate a call to actionSubscribing, liking and commenting are the most powerful user experience signals utilized by YouTube users to weigh videos. So, your call-to-action should encourage viewers to subscribe, like or comment. You might also want to consider using annotations asking them to “sign up” or “learn more” by clicking the link to your channel or website.3. Utilize annotationsThese are clickable links incorporated into the video and that take the viewer to your website. To make an annotation, start by verifying you’re the owner of your YouTube account. After this, enter your website as an associated website in Google Webmaster Tools and finish the verification process to confirm you’re the owner of the domain.Lastly, go to the Video Manager section of your YouTube account. Look for “Channel Settings,” and within that, the Advanced Section. In the box close to Associated Website, add your website’s URL. Once it’s verified, you can incorporate the link straight into the v ideo and modify its format and text.4. Put it into a playlistA playlist is a group of videos created by yourself or another person(s). Whenever a person finishes watching a video from a playlist, he is taken to another video in the playlist. Thus, there is an increase in watch time. Playlists enable you to group videos as a bunch and, therefore, get an increase in channel views. You can read more about creating a playlist here. Just as you would do with video descriptions, ensure that your playlists are organized and keyword-rich.5. Use hashtagsA hashtag is an unspaced phrase or word prefixed with the number sign or hash character (#). Though you may initially wonder what’s so great about using it, don’t! In Twitter, for example, the character converts the group of words or single word that comes after it into a searchable link. So, whenever someone enters the particular hashtag you used, in their search box, they’ll find your post along with any others that have used the same tag. This increases your exposure. Make it a point to use hashtags not just on Twitter, but also on Facebook, Google+ and other social media platforms where it is supported. However, don’t overuse them. Here are some pointers to keep in mind with respect to hashtags.First of all, don’t use spaces.  To differentiate between words, utilize capitals. This is an example of a hashtag if you’re providing guitar lessons: #GuitarLessons even though #guitarlessons is also fine.Numbers are supported but don’t use punctuation marks.  Using the @symbol in front of a person’s Twitter handle means you’re tweeting directly at him, and he will come to know of this by way of the @Connect tab.Make sure your hashtags are relevant. If you’re using trending hashtags, make sure they’re pertinent to your video.6. Enable embedsWhen you’re uploading YouTube videos, you can decide whether to allow them to be embedded or to disable this option. Visit “Distribution Settings” under “Adva nced Settings” in the “Video Manager.” See if the “Allow Embedding Option” is checked. If it is not, check it and click the “Save Changes” option located at page bottom. So now your video can be embedded by anyone who wishes to share it. To do so, they just have to copy the embed link and paste it into their blog or website. The more times your video is embedded, the more exposure it gets.7. Collaborate (with other YouTube creators)Here, collaboration means the owners of two or more channels join hands in developing a video. Whoever uploads the product of collaboration to his channel would typically provide a mention of the participants and a link to them. If considering collaboration, as far as possible do so with brands who are already using YouTube successfully and have the same target audience but are not your direct competitors. This would enable you to grab the attention of your collaborators’ subscribers and viewers. You being a partner, your name, or your bus iness name may be mentioned on their company website and/or social media profiles.8. Try the Adwords for Video programIf you have a budget to advertize your videos, consider developing video ads for your channel using Adwords for Video. These are video advertisements of short duration that would be played before a YouTube video loads. Some advertisements have the option of allowing the viewer to choose the “skip” option after 5 seconds. You would only be charged when a person views an obligatory duration of the advertisement.9. Put referring traffic to more useWhen you check out YouTube analytics, you can find out the key sources of traffic to your video. The sources may include a certain webpage or Twitter. If feasible, you may want to consider doubling your promotional efforts on these sources.SPREAD THE WORD10. By Word-of-MouthWhat could be easier than this? Spread the word about your YouTube video by telling everyone you know about it, including how it and/or the channel is titled. If possible, give them the link. Request them to watch the video and to go a step further by sharing the video on their social media profiles if they like it. Otherwise, you can just suggest they tell people they know about it. The more people discuss your YouTube video or channel, the more views you can expect. The word-of-mouth doesn’t have to be restricted to family, friend, colleagues and acquaintances. My Primary Objective As An Educator - 883 Words

My primary objective as an educator, both as a tutor when I was still at high school and as a TA/lab instructor later at university, is smoothing and accelerating the learning process. If learning is a self-process of making a mental representation or image of a concept, then I, as a teacher, try my best to lighten up that fundamental image and figure out where that image is still dark or blur and needs further improvement or clarification. My other teaching objective is inspiring and motivating students to go through the self-regulated part of the learning process; not to be scared of decoding what looks complicated, and not to give up until they come to an understanding of any given problem and figure out a solution. In class, students learn best when they actively participate. Thereby I believe the best classes are interactive ones and I use interactive teaching methods. I try to have lots of brain storming and keep it more like a discussion rather than a mono-tone speech. To keep the students engaged in the lecture, I usually ask them questions about what I am about to teach them and make them wonder about the problem, then give them the answer. This way, not only their minds remain actively involved but also I can get attention of those that have lost the track and get them present in class both mentally and physically. In addition, asking questions helps me to check their understanding of the topic and I will reteach/rephrase it if needed. Changes in Prisons Free Essays

Changes in Prisons BY Logrolling Changes in Prison The American Correction system has been in existence for over 130 years. It has been since the meeting of American Prison Congress on 1870 in Cincinnati, Ohio. (Allen, Latest Ponder, 2013, p 30-31) The reformation was totally encompassing the inmate’s life in prison. We will write a custom essay sample on Changes in Prisons or any similar topic only for you Order Now The minds that met in 1870 were ahead of their times. With having put accountability and standards in the prison system created an improvement for the prisoner and the term he/she served. The beginnings were in Philadelphia at the Old Stone Jails on Third and Market Streets. Its purpose was to hold debtors, and others awaiting trial. It has come a long way from the origins of the first Jails of the American Revolutionary however faltering in different fashions. The Jails were inadequate facilities. Inmates were lumped together male and female. A new Jail was erected in Walnut Street. This new Jail became the first state prison in Pennsylvania. The state prison had created separate cells for the various inmates. It also instilled different punishment in accordance with the crime. Walnut Street prison had implemented new workshops to educated prisoners with useful employment. Nonstop, Ph. D. , 2012) Walnut Street prison set up was the ideal make up for the moment. The state prison was the foundation for many more prisons to be built in the same fashion. Because of the rapidly growing population, a new Jail was begun in 1773 on Walnut Street, behind the State House (later, Independence Hall). The new prison had the traditional layout of large rooms for the inmates. Initially, conditions were little better than they had been at the old Jail. Prisoners awaiting trial might barter their clothes for liquor or be forcibly stripped upon entering by other inmates seeking funds for the bar. The result was great suffering when the weather turned cold. One estimate stated that 20 gallons of spirits were brought into the prison daily by the Jailer for sale to the inmates. It was also considered a common practice for certain women to arrange to get arrested to gain access to the male prisoners. After the peace of 1783, a group of prominent citizens led by Benjamin Franklin, Benjamin Rush and others organized a movement to reform the harsh penal code of 1718. The new law substituted public labor for the previous severe punishments. Members of the Society were shocked by what they learned about the new Walnut Street prison. The next year they presented to the state legislature an explanation of their investigations of the conditions. They recommended solitary confinement at hard labor as a remedy and reformative strategy. An act of 1790 brought about sweeping reforms in the prison and authorized a penitentiary house with 16 cells to be built in the yard of the Jail to carry out solitary confinement with labor for â€Å"hardened atrocious offenders. Walnut Street Jail, by the same legislation, became the first state prison in Pennsylvania. Following 1790, the Walnut Street Jail became a showplace, with separation of different sorts of prisoners and workshops providing useful trade instruction. The old abuses and idleness seemed eliminated, but with Walnut Street now a state prison and the population of Philadelphia increasing rapidly, it, like its previous Jail, became unbearably crowded. The large rooms, 18 feet square, which still housed most of the prisoners, by 1795, had between 30 and 40 occupants each. The Prison Society continued to urge the creation of large penitentiaries for the more efficient handling of prisoners. The reformers also remained convinced that in spite of the small-scale isolation cellulose at Walnut Street, that site would never prove the value of the system of separate incarceration which came to be called the Pennsylvania System. Only an entire larger structure, built specifically to separate inmates from one another, would be needed. Legislation was finally passed on March 20, 1821, and eleven commissioners were appointed by the governor. Among them was Samuel Wood, later to be the first warden of the prison. All but three of the building commissioners were either members of the Pennsylvania Prison Society or had revered on the board of inspectors of the Walnut Street Jail. Members of the Prison Society felt that the solution to the disorder and corruption in most prisons and even at the Walnut Street Jail lay in complete separation of each inmate for his or her entire sentence, a system which had been tried occasionally in England but was always abandoned because of costs and inadequate prison structures. The small â€Å"penitentiary house† of 16 cells at Walnut Street Jail had ended up being used mostly for hard core prisoners and as punishment for infractions of prison rules. What was deed was a solely new kind of prison on a large scale. In 1822, work began on what was to become Eastern State Penitentiary, although at the time it was called Cherry Hill because it moved a cherry orchard. Despite not being finished, the prison opened in 1829. Completed in 1836, it turned out to be one of the largest structures in the country at the time and was higher than preliminary cost estimates. Each prisoner was to be provided with a cell from which they would rarely leave and each cell had to be large enough to be a workplace and have attached a small individual exercise yard. Cutting edge technology of the asses and asses was used to install conveniences unmatched in other public buildings: central heating (before the U. S. Capitol); a flush toilet in each cell (long before the White House was provided with such conveniences); shower baths (apparently the first in the country). The system of 24-hour separation of each prisoner coupled with in-cell feeding, work and sometimes vocational instruction, came to be known as the Pennsylvania System or Separate System, and remained the official position of the Pennsylvania Prison Society throughout the 19th century, although the system and its unusual architecture -? a central hub and baking celluloses -? were seldom imitated in other states. Business Strategic Information System Azure Group †Free Samples

Question: Discuss about the Strategic Information System Azure Group. Answer: Introduction: The report research deals with the analysis of the organizational structure, operational issues associated with it. The report also reflects on the system acquisition method of the organization. The development and adoption of the accounting software packages are discussed in the assignment (Sanusi, 2015). The market for the Azure Group is been discussed in the report. Azure Group is a chartered accounting firm that has been successful in adapting to the demands of the market along with the introduction of new statistics of business in order to meet the lifecycle of business requirements of its clients. Azure Group has been having the experience of rapid growth in a very short duration of time. The company has been dealing with the innovative and entrepreneurial business reflecting the company's passion for the success of the company (Akhtar Mittail, 2014). Azure Group is a company that has been offering both commercial and technical accounting services. The company identified the growing requirement for the commercial advice from the highly experienced CFOs. This company was one among the original organizations that initiated the Virtual CFO service that offer to the SME market. The company went forward for the establishment of a professional network for the CFOs through CFO Australia. The Azure Group QLD further went forward to expand the operations into QLD's Gold Coast to support the increasing needs of the clients on the East Coast. The company also has operations in Shanghai, china which has made business in the cross border for its clients. The Azure Group Wealth was also introduced to offer Wealth solutions for the high net worth of the company and the clients in the business (Amrollahi, Ghapanchi Najaftorkaman, 2014). Organizational structure followed by Azure Group is flat organizational structure. A flat organizational structure is a structure in which the most middle management levels and the functions of the middle management levels have been eliminated. This brings the top management in direct contact with the sales people, who are in the frontline, employees on the shop floor, and customers. In spite of the breadth, the benefit of using the flat organizational structure by Azure Group are many including the faster response time to the preference of the customer and changing conditions (Bernaoui, Issolah Hassoun, 2015). The managed domains that are provided by Azure Group support only a flat Organizational structure. All the domains in the accounting software package reside in a single flat organizational structure of Azure. The hierarchical organizational structure is not supported by the domain of Azure Group. The domains service of accounting software package by Azure Group support the Gr oup Policy in the form of GPO which is built in for the computer containers and the users (Boonstra, 2013). The GP cannot be targeted by the organizational structure; the users cannot create custom GPOs or perform WMI filtering. The organizational structure of Azure Group helps in creating logical structure. One can use it for assigning policies of the group and the management of the resources. The flat organizational structure of Azure Group provides many advantages. However, the flat structure of the organization also leads to certain problems and issues in the operations of the company. There always is a probability for the management to lose control over the operations easily. This structure is very much suitable for the business operations in start-ups. When a company of massive scale has flat organizational structure, like Azure group, the whole system of operation can be threatened when the ratio of the employees to managers become out of proportion (Chatterjee, Kar Kar, 2013). The management will not be able to have easy control when there are fewer people to control the unrequited behaviour and fewer individuals for the backup or support on the decisions made by the management of Azure Group. The working relationship of the individuals working in Azure Group could struggle. The managers may have to deal with managing too many people every day. The manager may also find it difficult to connect on a personal level with the employees, which is important in maintaining trust and as the foundation of employees accountability and responsibility for the work and the company as a whole. This could pose a major threat on the morale and respect issue of the organization on all authority levels. Having a flat organizational structure can give rise to a power struggle in the Azure Group. Under this flat organizational structure, most of the time the employees lack a specific higher authority to report (Chatterjee, Kar Kar, 2013). This is mostly prominent n the case when the CEO is not around. This leads to power struggles and confusion among the employees in the management. The flat organizational structure of Azure Group can make employee retention very challenging. Well performing employees who are in constant search for an improvement in the profile of the company, other than the raise in their salary, would find it difficult to find satisfaction in the job under a flat organizational structure. These employees may end up searching job somewhere else where they believe that their efforts would be appreciated with a raise and promotion (Hernndez, Santos Gallardo, 2015). The flat organizational structure may also hinder the growth of the company. Change is crucial and has a lot of apprehensions. The management of Azure Group might think and decide against innovative opportunities with a renewed effort in the direction to maintain the organizational structure that may result in limiting the growth of the company in long term. In the flat organizational structure, unhealthy competition among the employees can lead to less motivation and add up to the confusion (Jin, et al., 2014). The most likely system acquisition method for Azure Group would be custom developed software. This system acquisition method is suitable for the company as the processing requirements of Azure Group are specific to the organization and the company has its own application software developed specifically. As the Azure Group has programmers that it has employed along with the analysts and have set up an internal information technology group of its own, the custom developed software is suitable for the company. Azure Group could use the services of a software house or computer bureau for its assistance, which is insignificant for the company as it is a large scale. Azure Group already is having a full time developed team (Jin, et al., 2014). The company has to acquire the resultant software which is the custom developed software as it exactly suits to the requirement of the company, just as a tailor made suit is appropriate for the purchaser. Azure Group can derive the benefits of the us ing a custom developed system acquisition software. This can include the resultant program that would exactly meet the processing requirements of the company. Azure Group is a large scale company having a flat organizational structure. Costs are not a matter for the company and thus, custom software for the system acquisition method is most appropriate for Azure Group (Jin, et al., 2014). The flowchart of sales procedure ( as shown in Appendix I) is an integral part of selling the product of Azure Group. The sale is the initiation of an engagement between the vendor and the customer or the extension of the engagement in the completion of the prospective stage. The provider of the goods or services through the salesperson completes sales in the response to an appropriation or to a request or an acquisition (Osman, El Beltagi Hardaker, 2015). Then the passing of title of the product, the application along with the due settlement of the price, the obligation arising due to the requirement of the seller to pass the ownership is followed. The issues or problems in this system of the company would include threats regarding the security of the data of the company. The threat of hacking and other vulnerability regarding the theft of eth companys confidential data and other information regarding the employees can be an issue to the system utilised by the company (Piepenburg, Archambault Joergensen, 2015). The development and adoption of accounting system package are necessary as a complete realization of the advantages of the computerized accounting systems by Azure Group along with the technical support is critical. The Internet is the backbone across all the telecommunications installations due to which adoption of accounting software packages is necessary. The human resource also has to undertake numerous functions in every department of computer centres and accounting, training, and technical skills are considered very important that should be available for the staff. The lack of accounting software package would affect the field of designing, usage, development of information technology and accounting systems (Ren, et al., 2015). Human resource is the primary element that illustrates effectiveness and efficiency of operating the computerized accounting software package. It is important that the accounting software package has implications on the workforce at the human resource level. Azure Group has diverse benefits in using technology-based innovation like computerized accounting system adoption. Adopting and developing computerized accounting software package enhances the efficiency of the company through faster and cheaper product and service as well as operations development (Salleh, et al., 2015). The current market size for the accounting software includes Europe, China, USA, and Japan including other regions. With reference to the companies that have adopted and developed accounting software package, it is observed that the distribution has changed over the last 10 years. The market size also keeps changing from country to country. The current market size for the accounting software packages is about 65% of the market share. However, market share is a subjective measure. Every company can depict the specific market as varying from the other companies (Sanusi, 2015). The tax and audit service have been a dependable revenue source for the accounting software package over past years, as the demand for these services does not depend on the economic conditions. Accounting software package has also expanded the advisory services by incorporation of new technology such as cloud and data analytics services. The leaders in the accounting software package industry in the Australian market are Intuit, Xero, and MYOB. The competition for the supremacy in the accounting software market is prominent in the huge market. Every business requires keeping a hold on its track regarding its accounts which these companies make very easily in a simple way. These companies know the ways to remove the requirement for the book keepers and allow the business to facilitate a decision regarding cash flow and invoicing management on the operations. These companies are jostling for the share in the market. Adoption of accounting software in the Australian market is occurring at a very fast pace (Wali, Sadq Rasheed, 2016). Many businesses in Australia are adopting accounting software so as to minimize the tedious paperwork that is often accompanied by errors of commission and omission, costly and time wasting. These companies face challenges due to their department not being autonomous units. In order to have a competitive edge in the market, these companies have their accounting departments entrusted with the collection, processing, and maintenance of online accounting. These companies also put in efforts regarding reconciling the accounting reports from other departments and deal with the incompatible formats and duplications. The approach of Information-centric security is been inculcated in order to control the security and data in the cloud in order to gain competitive advantage (Sanusi, 2015). The current gaps or challenges that are faced by the users or customers using accounting software packages are the lack of security, weak reporting service, lack of efficiency, outdated and lack of accuracy, lack of features, high cost, Difficult to customize and not user-friendly. The software users get worried regarding the security of the data as the foreign parties access them. Some solutions regarding accounting software are powerless in assisting the users who desire of getting the business data out (Sanusi, 2015). Users get disappointed with the fact that it is easy to put in data and impossible to get the data out. Some of the accounting software is not user-friendly (Ren, et al., 2015). They also restrict the users from using their keyboard completely. The companies should focus on the updating of the accounting software. The details regarding the software should be accurate, the system needs to be fast and errors must be checked. New features must be added for making the software more user-friendly (Salleh, et al., 2015). Conclusion: The report reflects the prominence of accounting software packages in business organizations in the competitive environment. Accounting software has gone through a prominent history of development since the invention of information technology. The large accounting software companies of Australia compete in the market characterized by continuously developing small and medium sized business. Strategies including information-centric security, authentication measures, and predicate cryptography should be acquired to deal with the threats security that is associated with the accounting software. Business Case and Proposal for Project Selection of Company Centervale Apparel

Cost-benefit analysis The project has a ten-year lifecycle. Its implementation will require $ 1.2 million; furthermore, Centervale Apparel will need to spend $ 250,000 on annul maintenance costs. Therefore, its total cost will be $ 3.7 million. In turn, the annual savings will be $ 500, 000. Thus, this project will break even within 7 years and 5 months.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Business Case and Proposal for Project Selection of Company Centervale Apparel specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Moreover, in the course of ten years, it will bring the company $ 1.3 million of net revenues. Additionally, one should mention such improvements as the reduced time of delivery and enhanced satisfaction of clients. So, it is possible to speak about improved organizational and financial performance. Evaluation of alternatives A company can adopt several strategies that may serve as an alternative to this project. First of all, they can modify or upgrade existing order fulfillment technologies. The main justification for this initiative is that it will require a lesser amount of costs. Nevertheless, the management may not ensure that this strategy will help the company improve data accuracy and reduce the costs of inventory. Furthermore, this organization can invest in the training of employees so that they could better understand the work of the current technologies. This approach can also be beneficial because in many cases, the poor work of information technologies can be attributed to the lack of users’ skills. Nevertheless, it is only a conjecture, and one cannot say that current problems can be explained by the lack of training. These is the main limitation of this alternative. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) model At first, it is necessary to identify the possible risks that this organization can face. First of all, Centervale Apparel may have to spend more time and capital in order to implement this project. Additionally, the company may have to spend more money on the annual maintenance of new technologies. Each of this risk is quite likely because even the most experienced business administrators can be too optimistic while estimating the timelines or costs of a project (Mankiw, 2007, p. 304). Provided that these risks are overlooked, they can completely undermine the value of project. To some degree, these risks can be mitigated by using both internal and external controls. For example, this project can be assessed by auditors, supply chain managers, and IT specialists who estimate the costs of this project.Advertising Looking for research paper on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Moreover, one should mention that the benefits of this project may not justify the expenses of the company. For example, this new supply chain management (SCM) system may not bring the expected sav ings. Again, this issue should not be disregarded because people are inclined to see the positive aspects of their initiatives, rather than their drawbacks (Mankiw, 2007, p. 304). These risks should be addressed with the help of internal and external controls. In particular, IT professionals and supply chain managers should closely examine the work of various technologies and determine how they can affect the cost-efficiency of the organization. Furthermore, Centervale Apparel should invest capital in the training of workers. Justification for the project Certainly, these risks are important, however, even despite these limitations, the company should implement this project. In this case, senior executives should focus on two important criteria. One of them is financial performance of the organization since this project will yield $5 million in ten years, while the cost of ownership will be 3.7 million. More importantly, the adoption of the system can lead to improved organizational performance, such as increased customer satisfaction, reduced delivery time, and competitive strength of Centervale Apparel. Sophocles, Oedipus, and the Nature of Family Essays

Sophocles, Oedipus, and the Nature of Family Essays Sophocles, Oedipus, and the Nature of Family Paper Sophocles, Oedipus, and the Nature of Family Paper Family creates a sense of identity for each individual. In the case of Oedipus the King, identity is a very important concept as it helps one establish one’s integrity. One of the themes of the play is the importance and value of family; this gives the tragedy the sense of ‘not knowing’ as it coincides with any prior knowledge that the characters may have of their fate. Sophocles creates the concept of family as an idea of origins; Oedipus enters a journey in which he tries to find himself, through this he subconsciously is on his way of finding his real family, even though he is not aware of it. In the play Oedipus Rex, the idea of the parent’s sins being passed onto their offspring is tested in the sense that Jocasta and Laius did not listen to the oracle, and that is why Oedipus ended up the way that he did. â€Å"Character is destiny† was a quote said by Heraclitus, which means that the character or personality of a certain person will affect their fate. In Oedipus’ case his character was predestined by the acts of his parents prior to him being birth. Jocasta and Laius received strict rules about having children; they did not listen to the oracle, which therefore lead to the death of Laius, which was done by his son, Oedipus. That also led to Oedipus and Jocasta falling in love and having children of their own. Laius and Jocasta were told by the oracle that if they were to have children, that child would kill the father and marry the mother. In order to prevent this Jocasta and Laius had someone send Oedipus into the mountains where he would die. However, they weren’t informed that Oedipus was actually given to another royal family, where he would grow up to be the prince of Corinth. Thinking that Oedipus has passed, the couple led their normal life. When Laius wa s murdered, it was not known that Oedipus was the person who committed the crime as they thought that he has died. Oedipus is aware of the message that the or

Personal Definition of the Word Freedom Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Personal Definition of the Word Freedom - Essay Example The researcher states that despite complications in the term interpretation every person naturally understands the great value of freedom, however, sometimes it is difficult to feel free if you did not lose it before. It is impossible to evaluate freedom of thought and speech if you live in a democratic country. To understand the concept you have to feel the limits of your freedom. The researcher thinks that freedom, firstly, presumes freedom from prejudices. Racial, sexual, national prejudices make or world more hostile and less positive place. Prejudices limit the abilities of the person to evaluate the world fairly as they are in most cases based on wrong, shallow knowledge and conclusions. We all are affected by prejudices and certain biases and it is important to keep the mind â€Å"clean† of such things. Freedom form prejudices is a trait of tolerant, mature person, who understands the value of human life regardless of his race, sex, origin or age. The world history has shown numerous examples of discrimination, however, now we are free to choose what to believe. Secondly, freedom is a freedom of choice. Nevertheless, the concept â€Å"freedom of choice† of the person means two things: that we are free and that we have a choice as that. Today the researcher has the right to choose a place to live and to study; he is able to choose a hobby and friends. The Modern Middle East in World Affairs Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

The Modern Middle East in World Affairs - Essay Example The relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United States of America begun nearly a century ago. This relationship is based on mutual respect and common interests – economic, political, technological and social. The Saudi-US friendship has been through numerous conflicts and crises, but, has grown from strength to strength. The origins of this relationship go back to the personal admiration King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud the Kingdom’s founder, held for President Woodrow Wilson. Oil has always been the major element of the Saudi-US relationship. The Kingdom supplies crude oil to the United States averaging 1.52 million barrels per day. Saudi Arabia received quite a number of US companies, which at first came to provide products and services for the oil industry but later entered into other ventures. When Saudi Arabia embarked on an ambitious development program in the industry, healthcare, education and agriculture, it sought assistance from the United States. U.S. experts and companies were closely involved in building up the Kingdom’s modern infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, roads, airports, seaports, industrial cities and telecommunications facilities. From that time, United States has partnered with Saudi Arabia in trade for more than fifty years. At present, America exports goods and services worth billions of dollars to the Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia in return exports a sizable portion of crude oil to the United States.

Resistance And Electrical Conductivity Environmental Sciences Essay

Resistance And Electrical Conductivity Environmental Sciences Essay Electrical currents are routinely harnessed and transmitted via interconnected wires. The purpose of this research is to identify factors commonly responsible for affecting the resistance of current, or flow of electricity, across a wire in an electrical circuit. Some factors will need to be identified and investigated prior to experimentation. A basic understanding of electrical circuits and resistance is required for successful completion of this project. In order to create an electric circuit, a path must be constructed to allow electrons to continuously move, or flow, across a medium. The movement of electrons is called the current. The medium used to conduct the electron transfer is called a conductor. The difference or potential difference in electrical charges in the circuit is called voltage. Voltage is the measure of the force between two pots. When electrons move through conductors they often encounter friction which is called resistance. As with voltage, resistance is a measurement between to points and does not have meaning outside of those two points. A conductor with low resistance is considered a good conductor and a conductor with high resistance is considered a bad conductor (http://science.howstuffworks.com/electricity.htm). Because copper atoms have only one electron in their outer shell they tend to share electrons easily and allow an electrical charge to move through them with little resistance. Because of these properties copper is a good conductor (http://www.webelements.com). Free electrons tend to move through conductors with some degree of friction, or opposition to motion. This opposition to motion is more properly called resistance. The amount of current in a circuit depends on the amount of voltage available to motivate the electrons, and also the amount of resistance in the circuit to oppose electron flow. Just like voltage, resistance is a quantity relative between two points. For this reason, the quantities of voltage and resistance are often stated as being between or across two points in a circuit. Resistance is the property of a conductor that inhibits or restricts the flow of electricity through it. Good conductors are associated with low resistance and high energy transference. Poor conductors are associated with low current and higher resistance (http://science.howstuffworks.com/electricity.htm). Hypothesis: The hypothesis of this experiment is: the resistance to an electrical current should increase in relation to the length of the conductor. The resistance should be proportionally higher for the 60cm length of wire than it is for a 10cm length of wire. Prior research indicates that the resistance of the 60cm length should be 6 times that of the 10cm length. Earlier studies indicate that resistance will increase with length because resistance is proportional to length (www.123HelpMe.com/view.asp?id=120694). Project Plan/Problem Statement Does the length of the conductor affect the flow of electricity? If it does, in what way? Resistance to an electrical current should increase in proportion to the length of the conductor. The resistance should be considerably higher for the 60cm length than it is for the 10cm length. Theoretically the resistance for the 60cm length should be 6 times that of the 10cm length. The reason for this was explained earlier. Resistances are just added together in a series circuit so having a long length of wire will just be the same as having 2 lengths of wire half the size. Resistance will increase with length. Resistance is proportional to length (www.123HelpMe.com/view.asp?id=120694). The mathematical formula for the relationship between two points, as described by Ohms Law, being directly proportional to the voltage across the points and inversely proportional to the resistance between them is expressed mathematically as: (http://science.howstuffworks.com/electricity.htm). Or graphically as: (http://science.howstuffworks.com/electricity.htm). This science project will be used to test the length of an assortment of wires to determine how characteristic of length affects electrical conductivity. The electrons jump from atom to atom in the metal in response to the electric field in the circuit (http://science.howstuffworks.com/electricity.htm). Research tells us that copper has more free electrons than many other materials and should conduct electricity relatively freely (http://www.webelements.com/). The dependent variable for this project is the amount of resistance measured. The independent variable is the length of the copper wire used to conduct the electrical charge. The controlled variables for this project are constant room temperature, constant humidity, constant circuit, and a constant charge from a DC power pack. The project plan is to test the current/resistance over different length of wires. This project is relevant to real world applications because if people have a better understanding of the factors that affect electricity conduction, enhancement can be made in electricity transmission to reduce loss of charge and increase preservation of electrical energy. The accepting on the frequency-dependent electric accoutrement of electrolyte solutions proposed beat by Yamaguchi et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 127, 234501 (2007)] is affiliated to arbor the hydrodynamic alternation amidst ions. The accepting is activated to the aqueous band-aid of NaCl and the assimilation affirmation of the accoutrement agrees able with that angled by experiments. The abatement in the electric accoutrement is acceptance into the contributions of ion brace administering at acclimatized distances. The all-embracing ionic atmosphere plays a aloft role at the assimilation as low as 0.01 mol/kg, accepting the accession of the accent ion brace amphitheatre is important at 1 mol/kg. The acclimatized basal of cation is afflicted to be a abbreviating activity of assimilation as is empiric in experiments. How Electricity Works, retrieved from http://science.howstuffworks.com/electricity.htm The basal of electrons in motion in a abuttals is declared the current, and its abstinent in amps. The force allegation the electron alternating is declared the voltage and is abstinent in volts. The accumulated of electricity consumed were measured in watts. Investigation the Factors That Affect Resistance of a Conductor. (21 Jul 2010) Retrieved from: (http://www.123HelpMe.com/view.asp?id=120694) The factors that affect the transmission of electricity are: length of the wire- the greater the distance over the medium is the longer the electrons have to pass through and producing a higher possibility of impacts with other electrons; material used- the more closely packed the conductor (the nearer the electrons are) the more difficult it is for electrons to move through the conductor and so more crashes between particles, thus giving rise to a greater resistance; temperature- if the temperature of the cable is elevated then the atoms in the cable will begin to pulsate and that will augment the total number of impacts amid particles consequently rising the resistance; cross-sectional area- if the wires thickness is increased the resistance will decrease, this is because the electrons will have more space to move and that will make the probability of a collision with another electron is less likely. Experimental Design Steps/Sequence of Events This test set up should be able to assess the length of a wire for disparity in resistance of wire. Wires of differing lengths will be tested to verify that resistance is proportional to length. This will require testing different lengths of copper wire. For the experiment assorted wires from 10 cm to 60 cm will be tested using a current, a voltmeter and ammeter. The project will require an electrical circuit to test the resistance of a wire and an apparatus to connect differing sections of wire. To gauge the resistance of the wire conductor by means of Ohms Law, both an ammeter and a voltmeter will be used to check the electrical current. To achieve an average, the experiment will be conducted twice and then averaged for more accurate results. The power from the power source will be set at a current of 0.22 amps. Identical experiment steps will be utilized for wires of the following lengths: 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm, 50 cm, and 60 cm. The wire will be attached to the circuit in su ccession so that the current flows directly through it. Power will be supplied by a DC power pack that facilitates easy and accurate adjustments of power. Steps: Prepare circuit Attach section of wire to be tested to circuit Join one end of the ammeter to one end of the open circuit to guarantee that the whole current will be calculated. Check the polarization of the ammeters ends that are connected to the circuit. Turn on the power supply and increase the current to 0.22. Check the reading from the voltmeter. Check the reading from the ammeter. Attach the 10 cm length of the copper wire to the circuit. Apply 0.22 current to the circuit from the power source. Check the reading from the voltmeter. Record the reading from the voltmeter. Check the reading from the ammeter. Record the reading from the ammeter. Calculate resistance. Repeat steps 8-14 with 10cm, 20cm, 30cm, 40cm, 50cm, and 60cm lengths of copper wire. The dependent variable for this project is the amount of current/resistance measured. The independent variable is the wire used to conduct the electrical charge. The controlled variables for this project are steady room temperature, steady humidity, and a steady charge in the form of a DC output from a DC power pack that will allow the power to be changed easily and accurately. Reasoning Copper is a widely recognized conductor that is extensively used in business and housing wiring for electricity. The greater the distance that the electrical charge has to travel then the greater chance of collisions with other electrons within the electrical current. In this experiment the length of an otherwise identical wire will be investigated to find how that factor affects resistance. This experiment design method was chosen for its relative simplicity and ease of computing results. The reasoning behind this testing method was to prove fundamental factors of Ohm law and to test current laws in electrical conductivity. Tools/Materials Tools: Ammeter Votlmeter Circuit Power Source (DC Power Pack) Materials: Wire 10 cm copper wire 20 cm copper wire 30 cm copper wire 40 cm copper wire 50 cm copper wire 60 cm copper wire Variables The controlled variables, which must stay constant in this experiment to make it fair, are the output voltage from the power supply, which remains the same (0.22A) throughout measuring and the surrounding temperature should not rise or lower too much. The independent variable in this experiment is the length of the wire. The dependent variable is the output of current and resistance which are measured with a voltmeter and ammeter. Threat Reduction to Internal Validity To reduce the threat to internal validity a new wire is used for each subsequent test. Previously used wires are discarded after use to ensure that the wire has not been compromised in a previous test. All testing supplies and materials are kept clean and away from contamination. In order to reduce any inconsistency this experiment is repeated several times and several measurements are taken by meters which have previously been checked and determined to be free from defect. Results Experiment 1 Result: Length Experiment 1 Cm I V 10 0.22 0.08 20 0.22 0.14 30 0.22 0.23 40 0.22 0.32 50 0.22 0.4 60 0.22 0.47 Experiment 2 Result: Length Experiment 2 Cm I V 10 0.22 0.09 20 0.22 0.18 30 0.22 0.25 40 0.22 0.33 50 0.22 0.42 60 0.22 0.51 Average Result: Length Average Cm I V 10 0.22 0.85 20 0.22 0.16 30 0.22 0.24 40 0.22 0.325 50 0.22 0.41 60 0.22 0.49 Conclusion The resistance of the wire increases in proportion to length as predicted in the hypothesis. The results from this experiment have followed previous energy laws. The experiment proved that the resistance in 10cm of wire is roughly 50% of the resistance of 20 cm of wire, which is in turn roughly 50% of the resistance of 40 cm of wire. Additionally, the resistance of the 10cm wire is approximately 1/3 of the resistance of the 30cm wire. This is because 10 is 1/3 of 30. Confirmation of Hypothesis Based in the results of this experiment the hypothesis is correct. This experiment proves that resistance increases in proportion to length. The evidence to support this is clearly shown in the graphs included above. As the length of the wire is increased, the resistance also increases directly proportional to the additional distance in length that the electricity had to travel. Experimental Design as Key Factor Experiments are generally conducted to prove or disprove a hypothesis, theory or an assumption. The legitimacy of any experiment is precisely affected by its design and implementation. Consideration of experimental design is particularly significant. If an experiments design is inconsistent the results and conclusions will be unsound and as a result will be unusable. Replication This project could be easily replicated using materials that cost less than $50. This is important because easily replicable results are not as likely to be impacted by accidental errors and if an experiment can be repeated under different circumstances by different people then it is most likely that the conclusions will remain the same and be accepted. Scientists are not likely to accept the results of a single experiment since the proposed hypothesis has to explain all experimental results and due to surrounding conditions, results could potentially vary, Evaluation of Validity This experiment is valid because it is easily reproducible, the data corresponds to scientific proofs, and most importantly the data is consistent through a variety of testing situations. This experiment would be easily confirmed by another scientist recreating the process. Further research is ongoing to develop a method of transmitting electricity with minimal resistance and loss of voltage.

Why did the standard of medical treatment improve so rapidly during the Twentieth century?

There are many reasons as to why the standard of medical treatment improved so rapidly during the twentieth century. But there were four main factors that triggered the diversion of medical treatment and those are war, government, technology and individuals. War played a big role in the improvement of standard of living, war was something that shouldn’t have happened due to millions of deaths but it did trigger a spark, a sudden development of treatment in order to save lives of soldiers quickly before they died. World war one and world war two are just to name a few and in world war 1 in particularly soldiers had lost a lot of blood and as a result died of blood loss. As a result of the loss of lives for this specific reason, blood transfusion was developed. There were many shell shocks where soldiers were traumatized by the event and so psychology was soon developed where doctors specialised in physiotherapy to help soldiers go through the traumas and stress of the world war. Furthermore through gun shots, many had faced terrible injuries where they lost limbs and so prosthetic limbs were developed and this resulted in soldiers being able to walk again like they previously could. World war two also came as a great shock and as this had happened later after the 1st world war there were developments in nuclear weapons and other substances that can be used against their enemy. Aeroplanes were now used to drop the nuclear bombs at opponent but in the plane itself is a different story where while in air, pilots are burnt to death due to the fuels. Many sadly die however there is a minority that survive but have burnt or damaged skin that are permanently damaged and for this plastic sugary was developed. This helped soldiers fix up their face till you could not even tell their face or body was damaged in the first place. Due to the sudden wars and demand for medical care, many realised in the process that there were no enough hospitals and so more hospitals were built for medical care. There was the government who also played a role in the development of medicine too because without the government it would have not enforced the public and therefore people would’ve done what they wanted. The government is n charge of finance and to fund medication for when medicine is prescribed from the GP to just getting normal tablets like paracetamol. But government is the one that controls the legalisation system where there make a law to have a vaccine done for example or else you would get a fine so it makes it compulsory to get the vaccine in safety for the nation. It means that everyone needs to have the vaccine. Furthermore it is the government which funded the starting of the NHS, the national health system. This was a beneficial system for every one of all ages as it made a great difference as most of what you need like medication is given for free. Previously you would also have to pay the GP however this wasn’t the case anymore and you would only need to pay for prescription which only cost a few pounds. In the case of undergoing an operation, that too would be free so it was a great help to everyone. However in order to fund the NHS, national insurance was paid from every person who’s employed where before they receive the wage, the national insurance would be subtracted from the wage. Between 1948 and 1949, ?373 million was spent on NHS, this is a quite a large figure so the government is taking in charge of a big service in welfare of the public health.

Puritan Influence on American Culture Essay

Write an essay in which you evaluate the influence of Puritan values on the development of American culture. Use specific examples of Puritan ideas, traditions, and institutions, and discuss how these were affected by the end of the first century of American colonial development. (Be sure to rely heavily on Morgan’s The Puritan Family, as well as lecture, text and primary sources, for material and examples. ) Cultures often rely on past beliefs to shape their values or way of life. Puritans had a great impact on American society today. Their primary focus was on that of religion and how it guided their lives in aspects such as relationships, social order, and education. They did not accept many who fell outside of these standards and I think that today, many are marginalized if they do not conform to the common beliefs. Many people today use the Ten Commandments as an outline of how to live and what to believe which shows that religion is still an important aspect of lives in America. Although their ideas have been manipulated over the years, they provided a strong basis for American Culture. The husband and wife relationship is an area that has evolved its basic ideas from the Puritan lifestyle. A pastor or magistrate was not allowed to perform a marriage unless it was already â€Å"published† by the law which is similar to a marriage certificate today. It is a legal union as well as a religious one. After the ceremony was a feast to celebrate which is still common nowadays. A difference is in that they forbid dancing and other extensive â€Å"fun† activities. This is where some of our laws originated from, such as anti-smoking or censorship laws. Domestic abuse was forbidden in Puritan marriages and this was also taken as far as punishment for speaking ill words of one another. Their idea of marriage was that a relationship was based on companionship and this remains a main reason couples get married. They also believed in a subordination of the women which has been challenges but there are some areas where it is still seen in society. The Puritan’s education was closely related to religion which is not the case in American culture however there are similarities in the importance of education. They believed that the education of children would lead to salvation therefore it was of high importance for young children to be educated. Both Puritans and today’s society believe that the importance of education is so that advancement is possible to bring wealth. Their entire system of order and belief relied on this, â€Å"Every Grace enters into the soul through Understanding† (Morgan, 1944). Therefore education and religion went hand in hand. This is not as common today with the separation of church and state. There are some separate school systems that are closely associated with religion however it is not the norm.

What Makes A College Education Worth It - 982 Words

I am a freshman in college and I like to believe that I am going to school to better myself and the world around me. Unfortunately, many people only go to college for the substantial pay raise that a college education provides (averaging about double). What makes a college education worth it? What do we learn in college that is worth thousands of dollars and the long hours of sleepless nights? As a college student I very often feel that college is indigestible, the information we consume is merely regurgitated for assorted exams and assignments only to be forgotten when the information is no longer useful to a grade. Some of the things I learned in college had nothing to do with the information I ingested but with the life lessons I’ve learned while trying to balance work, school, and relationships. I now understand college is less about how much you know and more about how to apply it to our futures. Here are two of the biggest lessons I have learned about managing money an d prioritizing your life. Money is important, very important. How many times have you heard someone say, â€Å"Money doesn’t buy happiness† or some other quote teaching us not to envy wealthy lifestyles? Dismissing money as something that is not important is a vast misconception. Don’t mistake my words money is not everything, it can be a means to an end but it is a means of enabling you to shelter yourself, to build and provide a solid life for your family, and to give your excess to others around you.
